Around Vang Vienna and The Shits
Fighting off the pain Andrew and I met up with Adam and explored local caves and also visited a local swimming hole which was fun.
We met up with Spud and Jeff, and the others for a few beers that evening before leaving the next day. We said our goodbyes that nite and the next day I caught the bus to Vientienne with Andrew.

Vang Vienne Caving
Vang Vienne, set in a valley in the Mountains and the gateway between Luang Prabang and Vientienne. A place to relax, indulge in substance abuse, watch videos and generally watch the world go by.
Andrew and I had caught the mountain bus from Luang Prabang which was really scary. Not as scary as Spud and Jeff tho who had got off the bus when they saw the AK47. Instead they got a lift in a minibus with a demented priest who had never heard of brakes apparently.
Our Hostel was like Tenko and we still had the shits after eating some dodgy sticky rice up near Luam Prabang. It was hell and I would carry it around for a about a week.
Scared, us?, when the LAOS guide indicated we were to dive into the underground river and swim we began to get worried. Have you ever see the Poseidon Aventure. If so u will get my drift. Anyone seen Adam? After all that it wasnt at all bad.

Luang Prabang - A Wonderfully Cool Place to be!
In Luang Prabang will did a lunchtime tour of the French Colonial Town. It was very hot so inevitably we retired to a bar. Later on we would return to the bar with survivors from the slow boat trip to celebrate life and being alive etc. At least thats my excuse!!
Survivors from the Mekong River trip catch up with a few beers. Ricky and Carina got the speedboat instead and missed all the excitement. Personally I think his face says it all ...... imagine holding on for dear life in a small speedboat flat out all day. You get the picture!!

LAOS Border Control
We had all stayed at Chiang Klong (the Thailand side) and would take the river south to Huay Xai where we would cross the border into Laos and catch the slow boat down the Mekong.
Adam and i bumped into Spud and Jeff at the border before catching a the slow boat to Luang Prabang. Little did we know what we had let ourselves in for. What a bunch of desperadoes eh!!
